Tonight is the night when we move the hands of the clock ahead one hour and fool ourselves into getting up an hour early, so that we can get off work early, and enjoy the illusion of prolonged sunshine into the evening. Add this to the natural shift in the hours of daylight, and the change of season, and my sleep patterns get thrown for a loop. Therefore, at this time of year, I become increasingly aware of weird dreams. I wake up in state of near delirium, and it takes me awhile to distinguish dream from reality. Sometimes the lingering dream images and sensations stay with me throughout the day. This is good. It allows my subconscious nocturnal ramblings to spill over into my sketchbook. Here’s a tiny sketchbook triptych from March 2014.
